Description
The “Haunted Deck” is a well-known effect and different methods have been devised for the trick. The “classic” method is with a length of black thread.
The method of Doug Edwards moves the deck only once but all the cards can be freely shown and in the hands of a capable magician, the deck can even be checked by the spectator. No thread is involved and any Bicycle deck can be used.
The spectator freely selects a card from the shuffled deck. The card is returned to the deck and the deck cut several times then openly placed on the palm of the magician. Concentrating on the deck, the magician keeps his hand immobile and eerily, the deck slowly pivots to the side, cutting off a packet. The card at the cut is checked. It is the spectator’ card!
