This is a clever version of the classic ball and tube trick where a steel ball sinks into a metal tube with a diameter too big for the ball to enter. In this model, the inner tube can be locked in place and everything given for examination.
Place a steel ball on top of a brass tube. The ball is too big to enter the tube. Pronounce your magic woirds and to everyone’s surprise, the ball is seen to slowly sinto intoi the tube. It then emerges again and the ball and tube are immediately passed out for examination.
A really clever and mystifying effect with elegant apparatus.
