Surprising Dove Box

            Here is a mini illusion ala the stage-size “Origami Box Illusion”.

            A small, decorated box is seen resting on a small table. The magician shows the table and the box freely then he pulls on the ends of the box which extends into three times its size and becomes just large enough to accommodate a dove. The magician then opens the lid on top, shows a dove and places it in the box filling the latter completely. The top lid is closed and then the ends of the box are pushed inwards until the box is compressed back to one third its size.

          Five long needles (mini swords) are displayed and pushed through various holes in the box.  In this condition, the box and table are again freely displayed all around. There is evidently no place for the dove to be hidden!

          Finally, the needles are removed, the box is lengthened out again, the top lid is opened, and the dove is removed and shown to be safe and sound!

         This exciting piece of magic is easy to do and in fact, the box can first be shown as resting on a tray which is then suddenly transformed into a small table. The apparatus consists of the special box, mini swords and folding table!
