The magician shows a deck in its case and the spectator names a card. The cards are removed from the case and it is seen that all the cards are face down except for the spectator's card! As an extra climax, that card is removed and turned over and it is the only card with a different coloured back to the rest of the cards! This is by now a standard magician's trick but it is still one of the easiest to do mental effects. Available in Bicycle poker cards.

Our Little Ghost is very proud of this! Have three cards selected from the deck. Have them replaced in different positions. Square up the deck then place it on your open palm. Concentrate on the deck and suddenly, it moves forwards then sideways to the right and then to the left and leaves the three selected cards protruding from different positions out of the deck! It is an old effect but always new for any audience! The movement of the cards are weird yet fascinating and how many card effects really look like magic? So get this! This is always a popular effect for parlour or stage! Give the spectator an invisible deck to shuffle (usual gag - it will be easier if you remove the cards from the case first!). Ask the spectator to fan the invisible cards and to remove one. He remembers his selected "card" (more gags here - show it to everyone!) then replaces "it" upside down (reversed) in the "deck". The "deck" is then placed in the magician's pocket. After some magical incantation, a deck is removed from the pocket - it is the invisible deck, now visible! No one believes this. So to prove that it is the same deck, the magician reminds the spectator that he has reversed one card in the deck. He names his card, the deck is spread out and it is seen that there is one reversed card. It is the spectator's card! Everybody convinced? The trick is easy to perform. No manipulations. The long card is always a great gag. The magician announces that he has a prediction in his pocket (or in his jacket) in the form of a playing card. Someone selects a card from a deck. The card is shown to everyone. It is the eight of hearts. The magician pulls his prediction card out of his pocket but it is the three of hearts. Wrong prediction? Well, the funny worker continues pulling the card from his pocket and the three of hearts grows and grows until it becomes the eight of hearts! Right prediction! Now everyone is happy! The card is made in plastic so it will last. It is designed with the eight of hearts on one side and eight of spades on the other side so you can also change cards the next time you perform the trick and some of the audience is the same.

Show a deck with all blank cards. It has no faces or backs. Make magic gestures over the deck and faces suddenly appear, but no backs! So make more gestures and now all the cards have backs as well! But no faces!!! More gestures and chants, and now the cards have both faces and backs like any other normal respectable deck. Reverse your magic gestures and suddenly all the backs and faces disappear and the cards become blank again! You will have lots of fun with this deck! You can invent your own effects too! Show the deck as a normal deck with faces and backs and have the spectator think of a card as you flip the deck. Tell him you will make the card disappear. Snap your fingers then spread the deck ..... all the faces and backs have vanished ... you have made the selected card disappear (err..... plus all the others as well!!). A deck is removed from its case but the cards are all split diagonally
in two halves. The cards are shown to be all different and two
spectators each freely select a card, one from each half deck. The two
half cards are turned over and found to match perfectly! A nice
demonstration of sympathetic thoughts!
